Default Couple bucks from Thanksgiving weekend at Gatlin Hunt Club in NC...

Thanksgiving started out good with a nice 7 pt (see other thread) while hunting with BP57. There was potential for this to be an outstanding Thanksgiving hunting but I just couldn't put it all together. I missed out on 2 different opportunities at 2 nice bucks. One was too far for a clean kill shot with the shotgun so I passed on it. The other just didn't get to the right place. Close, but not close enough. We did get that one though. A really good perfect 8 point. We also killed a great 9 point the same day. There was another good 8 taken on Friday that I didn't get a picture of.

Way to go Kevin, looks like a good weekend for sure!I've got to get up there to try getting in front of those hounds myself. Hopefully we can pull that together soon! Thanks.

Oh yeah...these are just the ones I've got pictures of from this past weekend. There was a couple more that were killed and have been quite a few more killed this year that were nice deer. If I can get some of the guys up there to send me some of their pictures from their phones from this year I'll post something like a summary of the year when deer season is over. They have tons and tons of food to eat up there as we are surrounded by soy bean and peanut fields everywhere you go and good bits of hardwoods mixed in there. We're a dog club so we kill our fair share of smaller bucks too but we ALWAYS have a few nice ones and we usually see some absolute monsters that seem to get away most of the time.
