    Default First bow kill ever

    image.jpg

9am, saturday morning. Very happy. Though not huge, it is getting shoulder mounted and made into cheesy sausage for table fare.

Just very lucky to be able to hunt this animal and lucky to harvest it. The roads in were blocked until thursday, when my wife used her hand saw to trim a pathway for our wrangler to get through. She gets a major assist for sawing parts of 15 trees while i was at work. No exaggeration. I counted them. I love my hunting buddy wife with all my heart.

First deer i have killed in two years. 1st ever with a bow. Wasnt the greatest shot but it laid down in the timber in sight of me and i gave it 90 minutes before blood trailing. (Once the shadows in the timber shifted, not long after the shot, i could not see the critter anymore and was just hoping beyond hope it had expired. It did.)

I needed this. Been a rough couple years, the last involving very little deer hunting. Peaks and valleys is the path of life. I hope each and every one of you gets every bit of joy possible in the woods because it is not guaranteed.

My bride had a great day. Killed a doe at 730 am and a six point at 900 am. Loved hearing her 243 roar! Getting a euro done on her request. Not too shabby for her 9th and 10th deer ever. And only been a hunter for five years.

This season, she has killed a buck, two does, a sow, and a boar!!!
