From my family's recent vacation to Cape Hatteras

We were staying in at the very northern end of Hatteras Village and the weather, other than one day was really nice. Fishing was excellent on the morning incoming tide on Wednesday through Saturday. My son and I caught lots of small Flounder, Pompano, Black Drum, Blues but a couple keeper Spots and Whiting. The fun fishing however was for Puppy Drum of which we caught our limit 3 mornings in a row. We caught and released as many over those three days.

I've caught big ones years ago but mostly prefer catching "eatin" size like those. I was using fresh cut mullet for the smaller ones.

We were just below you on Portsmouth Island 11/13-17. We caught a few Black Drum, Whiting, small Blue Fish and Reds 22'-25" on shrimp. Had a few bites on cut bait. I think that I caught every stingray in the area. We are thinking about going out on The Great Island next year.
