    Default Anybody catching

Anyone catching any bass. Water getting high and muddy up this way more rain coming. Couple day of sun and the big ones will be easing up on the rubbing logs. Gotta change over the boat from catfish gear to bass fishing tomorrow. Saturday morning rain or shine, likely rain.

Haven't even gotten around to putting new line on the reels or organized my tackle yet. Been doing Honey dos that got sidelined during Deer season. May give them a try late next week though.

Me too. Nasty last weekend but dying to go. Just have to fish with old line. Had everything gear up to catfish. February 15 is the turn around day for my bass. Just give me two or three days of sun.

Yeah, I use it on our spinning reels when Bass fishing, since I can use heavier line weight with smaller diameter and get can more line on the spools. I just use about a 4 foot leader of mono between braid and lures. Keeps the fish from seeing the braid, and I can retie baits without having to cut the braid each time. I use braid on a couple of my baitcasters as well for fishing heavy weeds/pads...

I use flourocarbon on spinning reels, braid on my flipping reels and some bait casters, mono on some spinning reels and most bait casters. I still like mono as it is cheap and if there is problem I just change it all out so I keep fresh line on. Just spooled up two reels with 15 pound test for tomorrow. The rest looked ok as it was new line. When i fished 3-4 days a week I changed all my line every two weeks. Used to be anal about line and keeping fresh line. Retie after every fish or two. Nick in your line is a lost fish no matter what kind of line. Now I just fish.

I usually start on the Bream in May, in the Cooper. To busy chasing Bass in April to Bream fish. Got to do some Shad fishing when they start running good, so I can freeze some for Catfish bait as well.

We had our club bass tourney on Lake Monticello yesterday, most of the 32 teams caught their 5 fish limit. 20.56 lbs took first place. Big fish was over 7. My partner and I only managed 13.88lbs. During pre-fishing my partner did land an 8.24lbr, but couldn't find him again for the tourney.

Caught a few on Wylie yesterday. Nasty day. Fog so thick you couldn’t see 100 feet. Without GPS you were not going anywhere. Never heard another boat until after 2 pm. Couldn’t see them anyway. Water very high and rising. Big logs and trees floating every where in the main river. Least it didn’t rain.

I use braid on my spinning rods for catfish. Usually paired with 20 lb mono for the leader. We use braid on all of our saltwater bottom rigs.

Crappie bite is hot right now, better quality and the numbers are just as good as the spawn period. The muddy water is clearing up from all the rain we've had and they're in feeding mode getting prepared to spawn in a few weeks. Get out and have fun..

Thanks fellas. Just an I-7 phone mostly for the pictures. You can do a lot just by cropping and rotating a photo a little.

The Cats are hitting good at the Diversion Canal. We caught all I felt like cleaning in 1.5 hours, then released everything else until we got tired of catching them. Quit fishing at 9:30. Drifting Shrimp on a bottom bouncing rig.
