Default My Father just died Please pray for my family

My brother just called and informed me that my father just died. This is not unexpected since he has severe Alzheimer's and has been in Hospice care for the last week. Please pray for his soul and for my family.

Stanley, I think about my dad daily and sometimes I still get the thought "what could I have done better for him in his last days" but in reality I cannot find anything that I know would have helped him. My sister and I were probably in more need of help than dad in those latter days. I hope that doesn't sound selfish but who knows how my dad really felt beyond being happy just to see us when we came by for a visit. The kind comments of support from you and others here helped me more than you all would ever know. Friends at work were good too. My extended family were to some extent especially from my dad's remaining brother, Jim.

I guess I'm just letting you know I'm thinking about you at this time and pray you have the peace that my sister and I do now after our father's passing. My mom passed from cancer in August of 1998 and I will admit I think about her daily too. We are now the old folks.

    Peace be with you.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. In my fathers last couple weeks he was non vocal and basically just stared into space. When my brothers and sisters went to see him he gave no indication that he knew them. He had lived with me for 4 years but had a breakdown in May and ended up being committed. My family and I decided to put him a memory care home in Pittsburgh because I had 2 sisters and a brother living there. Also I have a sister in Detroit and a brother in Lorton Va., so he would be closer to all of them. They also told me that I deserved a break. We moved him in June hoping to help him but he just steadily went down hill. My mother also died of cancer in 2008. As per their whishes both have been cremated and will be interned in the same unit. They spent their lives together and will now rest in peace together.
    Thanks to everyone again
