saw about 40 birds scattered in a fescue pasture field, last Wednesday, when we left the golf course ( around Waterloo,S.C. ) -- one gobbler was at full strut, looking for a girlfriend __ the rest were just pecking away eating** ___ I don't hunt near there, but there is a hunting club that borders the pastures -- they recently clear cut a lot of trees off that club __ I would guess some of those folks will have some fine hunting soon??

I’ve seen lots of single and pairs of longbeards. Have seen birds strutting with hens and have been sent videos of gobblers breeding hens. They have started.

Watching a longbeard strut with 9 hens in my old corn field. He has gobbled twice at crows. And bred one hen.

I heard one behind the house on roost this morning when I walked out the door to go to work then I stopped at a place and heard hens and gobblers in two different places. Sounded like April out here with all the crows, turkeys, and songbirds.

I scouted a bit yesterday in Colleton, and heard birds at multiple locations, but did not hear as many as a typical "good" day. Given how gobbling behavior fluctuates, I'm not putting much stock into it. Breeding is in full swing, and there are folks nearby who say some hens are already going to nest. Come on, 3/20...

Seeing strutters with hens in multiple spots. Most all bunched up in groups of dozen or more. Typical for this time of year. Haven't done much listening other than from the drive way, just one bird on the farm this year.

Saw 2 strutters today with about 6 hens in Anderson driving down the road.
I've hiked about 13 miles in the last two weekends scouting public land with very little sign.

Scouted for miles on public land in Laurens county without much going on. Hope they show up soon. They never did last year.

Heard 16-17 this morning and saw 2 more strutting with 4 hens. While fishing heard a hen yelp and one answered her off in the bottom. She yelled again a few minutes later and he gobbled again a lot closer. He gobbled once more near her. This was around 12. Fair amount of sign

I went and listened this morning up near the house in two little small places. One spot goes to the river and they were lined up and down that bottom (probably 6-7) and 2 up on the ridge. There was 2 gobbling across the road as well. I went to another spot and heard two there but it was after flydown. The birds on the roost gobbled 30-40 times a piece probably. One would gobble and they would all sound off.

Got out again this morning and heard 2 gobblers on wma. It was great to hear some gobbles. I was getting discouraged from the lack of sign.
We've done about 20 miles of hiking so far.
